Vladimir Yurzinov held a coaching seminar in Chelyabinsk
On April 14th, a coaching seminar took place in Chelyabinsk with honoured USSR and Russian ice hockey coach Vladimir Yurzinov.
Vladimir started the seminar by speaking about Chelyabinsk's long coaching traditions, which have helped develop young promising Russian players.
Matters concerning the training of young players, children's ice hockey, technical aspects of the game and Russian national teams were discussed. Local specialists were shown video clips from the recent World Cup of Hockey and World Junior Championship. Video material was put together by the Russian Ice Hockey Federation's statistical department. The seminar ended with an open discussion, in which participants could ask Vladimir Yurzinov questions.
Honoured USSR and Russian ice hockey coach Vladimir Yurzinov:
- The Russian Ice Hockey Federation was right to hold Olympic national team matches in Chelyabinsk. It's also good that this coaching seminar was organised. This is really important, because Chelyabinsk has given a lot towards the development of our ice hockey. Their team now has a local specialist working in it.
Deputy director of the Traktor ice hockey school Vladimir Molchanov:
- This is not the first time when Vladimir Yurzinov has paid us a visit. Our meetings are always productive, as we always find out about plenty of interesting and useful things. There is a problem concerning youth ice hockey. However, if we look at Chelyabinsk's ice hockey school, we always produce talented players. At this moment in time, there are guys in Traktor's school which can become excellent players in the future. In order to achieve great things, they need to keep working to the maximum of their abilities.
