The ice hockey module in the 2021/2022 academic year
At the Promo-M Secondary School in Moscow, the final ice hockey lessons of the academic year were held in accordance with the cooperation agreement with the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF).
The module program was put together by RIHF specialists with the approval of the Russian Ministry of Sport. Physical education lessons were held in which children, in addition to the traditional school curriculum, became acquainted with the basic skills required for playing ice hockey. Furthermore, alongside the practical sessions which were taught by playing floorball, theoretical lessons were organised with the children learning about the history of development of global ice hockey, the rules of the sport and the legacies of famous ice hockey players.
Upon the conclusion of the academic year, specialists of the RIHF and the Promo-M Secondary School held lessons in order to assess the students' knowledge. The most successful students received gifts from the RIHF.
In the subsequent academic year, it is planned to implement the ice hockey module in more secondary schools across Russia.
