01.02.2022
Vladislav Tretiak, the president of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF), spoke to the men's national team via video link ahead of the upcoming 2022 Olympic Games in Beijing, China.
As a player, Vladislav won the Olympics four times.
President of the RIHF Vladislav Tretiak:
- I wished the players luck for the Olympics, I noted to them that it's a great honour to be included in the national team for such a huge competition. All members of our team are very talented players of elite level, they are capable of achieving fantastic results. There is a lot of responsibility resting on the shoulders of both the coaches and players, especially given that they are the reigning Olympic champions. Our task is to win the gold medal.
I hope that our team will get through the competition without any illnesses or injuries. In order to win such tournaments, you have to put a lot of work in. I am sure that our players will give everything on the ice, they know that our large country will be watching.
