A meeting between the president of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF), Vladislav Tretiak, and the vice-president of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) for Asia and Oceania, Aivaz Omorkanov, took place in Moscow. The pair discussed important matters concerning the 2022 Olympic Games in China and cooperation in the field of the development of international ice hockey.

President of the RIHF Vladislav Tretiak:

- Aivaz Omorkanov recently visited China. The delegation, which included representatives of the IIHF, became acquainted with the preparation of Beijing for the ice hockey tournament at the Olympics, notably looking at the living and training facilities which will be presented to the participating teams. Omorkanov shared detailed information and spoke about important details which our team will take into account when planning the trip to Beijing. As a consequence of the current world situation, all ice hockey delegations will face special rules for admission to the arena, the team area and training locations.

Vice-president of the IIHF Aivaz Omorkanov:

- Russia is one of the flagship countries of world ice hockey. Russia's experience in developing our beloved sport is very useful for many IIHF member countries seeking to take their ice hockey to a new level. National federations are interested in cooperation with Russia. I am glad that Russia is always open for such cooperation, and also that the country is prepared to share its methods of educating high-class players and the best practices in the field of preparing national teams for important international tournaments. Interaction between federations will be developed and strengthened under the auspices of the IIHF.
