Euro Hockey Tour. Sweden - Russia - 4:2

13.11.2021
In the second match of the 2021/2022 Euro Hockey Tour, the senior Russian national team came up short against Sweden, conceding a 2:4 defeat in Helsinki, Finland.

Anton Bengtsson opened the scoring for the Swedes at the end of the first period. However, Russia responded in the second, scoring twice through Matvei Michkov and Artyom Galimov - goals which were admittedly cancelled out by Carl Klingberg and Anton Lander. Michkov's memorable lacrosse-style equaliser did indeed make him the youngest player to score for the senior Russian national team at the age of 16 years, 11 months and four days.

In the third period, our players pressed for an equaliser, but Klingberg practically ended the game as a contest in the 47th minute as he hit the jackpot on the counter-attack.

Russia will now prepare to face the Czech Republic tomorrow in the concluding match of the first stage of the competition. Puck-drop is scheduled for 14:30 Moscow time.
