2021 World U18 Championship. Finland - Russia - 5:6

In the semi-finals of the 2021 IIHF World U18 Championship in the USA, the under 18 Russian national team saw off the challenge of Finland in a goal-filled battle, emerging victorious by a score of 6:5.

Daniil Lazutin, Matvei Michkov, Nikita Chibrikov (2) and Ivan Miroshnichenko (2) all hit the target, while goalkeeper Sergei Ivanov stopped 19 of the 24 Finnish shots he faced.

After trailing by 2:5 and 4:6 in the third period, Finland did get back to within one goal with over two minutes remaining, but our players did manage to hold on while coming under severe pressure.

Russia will now prepare to face Canada in the grand final. Puck-drop is scheduled for 04:00 Moscow time tomorrow.
