Euro Hockey Challenge. Switzerland - Russia. A statistical look

The Russian Ice Hockey Federation looks back at the statistics to emerge from the first of two 2020/2021 Euro Hockey Challenge matches between Russia and Switzerland:
- In the 11th match of the campaign, Russia conceded their maiden defeat, beating the previous record of eight consecutive opening games without a loss in the 1992/1993 and 1993/1994 seasons. Seven of the 10 victories were registered in regulation time, with the remaining three having been tallied in penalty shootouts;
- In 40 appearances for the senior Russian national team, defenseman Dinar Khafizullin has earned 12 (3+9) points);
- Fellow defenseman Igor Ozhiganov has gained four (1+3) points in 20 matches for Russia;
- Defenseman Nikita Lyamkin (0+2) and forward Vasily Podkolzin (2+7) both participated in their 10th game for the senior Russian national team;
- Forward Pavel Kukshtel played in his first match for the senior Russian national team;
- Fellow forward Evgeny Timkin scored his maiden goal for Russia in his eighth game.
