Friendly match. Belarus U18 - Russia U17 - 3:4 OT

In the opening friendly match against the under 18 Belarusian national team in Minsk, Russia U17 earned a dramatic 4:3 triumph in overtime!

Mikhail Chirkov was the OT hero, striking the decisive blow with a little over two minutes remaining on the clock.

After Semyon Fedotov's opener had been cancelled out by the Belarusians, Mark Raitsky netted a quickfire brace to put our players in full control.

However, the Belarusians came roaring back in the third stanza and managed to get back on level terms with 13 minutes still to play.

Firmly in the driving seat, the opponents piled on the pressure and created plenty of chances, but our team held on before pouncing in the extra period.

The second game between the sides will take place tomorrow in the Belarusian capital at 14:00 local time.
