The second stage of preparation for the 2021 World Championship has started

On Monday, the second stage of the senior Russian national team's preparations for the 2021 IIHF World Championship started in Novogorsk, with the team set to fly to Switzerland on Wednesday.

These following players will make the trip.

Group 1

Goalkeepers: Ivan Bocharov, Alexander Samonov.

Defensemen: Yegor Yakovlev, Alexei Marchenko, Nikita Lyamkin, Dmitry Yudin, Grigory Dronov, Igor Ozhiganov, Rushan Rafikov, Dinar Khafizullin.

Forwards: Vadim Shipachyov, Kirill Marchenko, Ilya Safonov, Danila Moiseev, Pavel Kraskovsky, Yegor Korshkov, Vasily Podkolzin, Ivan Morozov, Emil Galimov, Artyom Shvets-Rogovoi, Vladislav Kamenev, Evgeny Timkin.

Group 2

Goalkeepers: Ivan Fedotov.

Defensemen: Andrei Sergeev, Daniil Pylenkov, Mikhail Naumenkov, Yury Pautov.

Forwards: Zakhar Bardakov, Pavel Kukshtel.

Goalkeeper Timur Bilyalov, defenseman Kirill Kirsanov and forwards Dmitry Voronkov, Andrei Kuzmenko and Anton Burdasov will continue training in accordance with individual programs in Novogorsk.

Defenseman Viktor Antipin and forwards Nikolai Kovalenko, Artyom Ilenko, Georgy Ivanov and Vladislav Efremov are leaving the training camp. The management group thanks them for their efforts, and they will be counted on next season.

The management group is continuing to follow the 2020/2021 KHL Gagarin Cup final series, while keeping in contact with candidates from the NHL. CSKA Moscow and Avangard Omsk players will join the national team for the fourth stage of preparation and the Euro Hockey Tour stage in the Czech Republic, and NHL players will be with the team in Latvia for the World Championship after adhering to a three-day quarantine period.
