In memory of Alexander Uvarov

March 7 marks the 99th anniversary of the birth of legendary Soviet ice hockey forward Alexander Uvarov, who notably won the 1956 Olympic Games with the senior national team.

He scored 23 goals in 59 appearances for the national team. Furthermore, alongside his Olympic triumph, Alexander claimed gold medals at the World Championship (1954, 1956), the USSR championship (1954) and the USSR Cup (1948.

Alexander sadly passed away on 24 December 1994.
