Sergei Chekmarev has passed away

Sergei Chekmarev, a former masseur for the USSR national team and NHL club Detroit Red Wings, has sadly passed away in the 66th year of his life.
He helped Detroit claim the Stanley Cup in both the 2001/2002 and 2007/2008 campaigns. On the international stage, he worked work the national team at the triumphant Olympic Games in 1984, 1988 and 1992 and the 1983, 1986, 1989 and 1990 World Championships.
The Russian Ice Hockey Federation extends its deepest condolences to Sergei's family and friends.
