In the second match of the 2021 IIHF World Junior Championship, the under 20 Russian national team came up short against the Czech Republic, conceding a disappointing 0:2 defeat.
Filip Koffer opened the scoring in the second period, before Martin Lang doubled their money in the third. Both goals were tallied on the counter-attack.
Russian goalkeeper Yaroslav Askarov stopped 27 of the 29 shots he faced.
Russia will now prepare to take on Austria on December 30. The game is scheduled to begin at 05:30 Moscow time.
