Euro Hockey Tour. Sweden - Russia. A statistical look

The Russian Ice Hockey Federation takes a look at the statistics to emerge from the senior national team's 2:1 penalty shootout victory against Sweden at the 2020 Karjala Cup in Helsinki, Finland:
- Overall, Russia have now competed in 300 Euro Hockey Tour matches, tallying 165 victories, eight draws, 127 defeats and a positive goal difference of 829-718;
- Forward Vasily Podkolzin became the youngest player to score a winning penalty shot for the senior Russian national team at the age of 19 years, four months and 14 days. The previous record was held by Igor Grigorenko (19 years, four months, 29 days) when he grabbed the shootout winner against Sweden on 7 September 2002;
- At the age of 18 years, four months and 22 days, Yaroslav Askarov became the youngest goalkeeper to win a penalty shootout for the senior Russian national team. The previous record was held by Igor Shestyorkin (20 years, three months, 17 days) when he helped Russia defeat Slovakia on 16 April 2016;
- Forward Rodion Amirov (19 years, one month, five days) has scored in both of the 2020/2021 Euro Hockey Tour matches for Russia so far, following in the footsteps of Alexander Popov, Roman Lyubimov and Pavel Poryadin who also registered goals in their first two appearances in the competition.
