The RIHF legal department clarifies the situation

06.05.2020
The legal department of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation clarifies reports concerning transfers between ice hockey academies.

One of the main tasks of the RIHF is to keep young, talented ice hockey players in Russia. In order to achieve this, both an infrastructural and regulatory base has been created, which included the regulation of transfers of players between ice hockey academies and schools. All transfers between ice hockey schools in the Russian Federation are carried out in full accordance with the transfer regulations for players of ice hockey academies.

The regulation stipulates that an athlete training at one ice hockey school may transfer to another. To do this, the parents of the player must submit the appropriate application to the Junior Transfers Commission, which will subsequently decide whether the transfer is in compliance with the regulations.

The RIHF notes that, together with the each school and ice hockey club, it is implementing a common mission to develop young players by creating the conditions and atmosphere for their professional growth in Russia.
