Valery Bragin and Dmitry Zavgorodniy speak after the second Super Series match
06.11.2019
Valery Bragin and Dmitry Zavgorodniy both spoke after the second match of the 2019 CIBC Canada Russia Series against Team QMJHL.
Russia U20 head coach, Valery Bragin:
- The way in which we conceded goals speaks about our old mistakes. When we started playing in the correct manner in the third period, the opponents didn't have any opportunities. We found it tough at the beginning and our goalkeeper kept us in the game. Overall, we started playing well after we got into the game, and it's a shame that we ended up losing in overtime. It's always nice playing inside a loud arena. We know have to fly to Ontario where a fresh opponent is waiting for us.
Russia U20 forward, Dmitry Zavgorodniy:
- Despite the fact that we lost, we have positive impressions from this match. The guys really tried hard. Yes, unfortunately we did lose, but we will learn from this. The opponents tried to protect the puck and they took advantage of their chances to score. We played with speed, moved through the neutral zone well, and we always like playing a passing game. I really want to compete at the World Championship. We have real potential.
