2019 World Championship. Russia - Norway - 5:2

In the first match of the 2019 IIHF World Championship in Slovakia, the senior Russian national team defeated Norway 5:2 with a confident attacking performance.

During the opening period, Evgeny Dadonov and Artyom Anisimov scored, before the former and Nikita Kucherov increased the lead to four in the second with a pair of powerplay goals.

After Nikita Gusev made it 5:0 early in the third, Norway clawed two goals back, but it made little difference to the outcome as Russia breezed to a 5:2 triumph! Goalkeeper Andrei Vasilevskiy stopped 25 of 27 Norwegian shots.

Our team's next match at the competition will take place on Sunday against Austria.
