Reaction after beating Switzerland at the Euro Hockey Challenge

Senior Russian national team head coach Ilya Vorobyov and forwards Anatoly Golyshev and Sergei Plotnikov shared their opinions following the 5:2 victory against Switzerland in the Euro Hockey Challenge.

Russian national team head coach Ilya Vorobyov:

- This is a good victory for us, the guys worked well. The teams entertained the fans in Sochi. The weather isn't great today, so they made the right decision to attend the match. We have mistakes to correct. Why did we have seven defensemen and 13 forwards? We are planning how we will play at the upcoming World Championship. Alexander Georgiev's debut? He's a great player.

Russian national team forward Anatoly Golyshev:

- We can't say that everything worked out as we wanted, there were mistakes. We played well in defence and scored our goals. Did the Swiss surprise us? Not really, we had analysed their tactics and we managed to tally the victory. I have been skating since a few days after the KHL season finished. I had played with Yegor Korshkov and Pavel Kraskovskiy at a previous tournament against France in Chelyabinsk.

Russian national team forward Sergei Plotnikov:

- I could have scored, and we didn't have to concede those goals. Overall, we all did well, we pressed the opponents and attacked with aggression. This will help us in future matches. Switzerland also attacked a lot? We defended solidly. After the KHL campaign, we had time to relax, and we all have energy and are in good shape. We wanted to show our best capabilities.
