2019 Women's World Championship. Russia - Switzerland - 2:1

The senior Russian women's national team defeated Switzerland in the first match of the 2019 IIHF World Championship in Finland.

After initially falling behind, Anna Timofeeva equalised for Russia in the dying seconds of the first period, before Olga Sosina then scored a dramatic winner with a mere 47 seconds remaining on the game clock in the third frame.

The next game will take place against the Finnish hosts on April 6.
