Reaction after beating Finland in the Euro Hockey Tour

After defeating Finland in the third stage of the 2018/2019 Euro Hockey Tour, senior Russian national team head coach Ilya Vorobyov, goalkeeper Ilya Konovalov, defenseman Alexander Elesin and forward Ilya Mikheev shared their emotions.

Russian national team head coach Ilya Vorobyov:

- We had a lot of players making their debuts, so mistakes were made. We will analyse them. The main thing is that the guys received an experience, I saw how their eyes were burning with desire and it was a Hollywood ending. Who will play between the pipes on Saturday? Igor Bobkov. We'll speak about other changes later. Why did Vadim Shipachyov stop playing? The entire second line had opportunities, but they didn't shoot. It was an excellent idea to play in Yaroslavl.

Russian national team goalkeeper Ilya Konovalov:

- I tried not to worry when conceding the first goal within the opening 60 minutes, I needed to continue playing. For the second goal, there were players blocking my view, so I didn't see the puck travelling towards me. We're all professionals so we enjoyed playing together. In comparison to the KHL, the ice hockey is faster here, and the players have more quality. I need to speed up too.

Russian national team defenseman Alexander Elesin:

- Today, it was my birthday, and I spent the entire day with the team training and playing. We needed to use a lot of strength in order to win. Both teams wanted to win. Finland have a strong team, and in such matches, you grow and develop as a player.

Russian national team forward Ilya Mikheev:

- We conceded both at the start and end of the match. Yes, the match went to penalty shots, but we don't feel overly tired and the fans were fantastic here. We will fly to Sweden tomorrow. I didn't compete on the powerplay? Never mind, we all have our own jobs within the team.
