Sergei Golubovich: "It was interesting to play against Latvia U18"

Following the two friendly victories against the under 18 Latvian national team, Russia U17 boss Sergei Golubovich shared his impressions from the sparrings.

Russia U17 head coach Sergei Golubovich:

- First of all, I was impressed with the character and desire of the players against Latvia. Taking into account the Latvians' qualities and their age advantage, it was always going to be difficult for us, but we coped with the task at hand and still have things to keep improving. Can Latvia cause us problems at the 2019 World U18 Championship? Yes, why not. For the upcoming Challenge Cup, we're planning on calling up 4-5 players from North America, we will see how they train with us and then we'll make a final decision concerning their participation in the tournament. The RIHF analytical department has recorded data on their matches with their respective clubs. Are my players professionals? No, not yet, they're only just starting to grow into that role. All competitions are important and we want to be successful at the Challenge Cup in Canada.
