06.05.2018
On May 6, the senior Russian national team will play Austria in the second 2018 World Championship match in Denmark.

In the opening game of the competition, Russia ripped apart France, claiming a 7:0 triumph after Kirill Kaprizov (2), Pavel Buchnevich, Evgeny Dadonov, Alexander Barabanov, Maxim Shalunov and Artyom Anisimov all hit the target. Goalkeeper Vasily Koshechkin claimed a deserved shutout by stopping ten French shots.

The Austrians took Switzerland to overtime in this first game, eventually losing 2:3. Only five members of this Austrian team play their ice hockey outside of their home country.

Puck drop between Russia and Austria is scheduled for 13:15 Moscow time. Channel One and Match-Igra will broadcast live in Russia.
