Euro Hockey Tour. Czech Republic - Russia - 2:1

In Pardubice, the senior Russian national team completed the Czech Hockey Games campaign with a 1:2 defeat to the hosts. Unlike the other two matches against Sweden and Finland, interim head coach Ilya Vorobyov gave Vasily Koshechkin a chance between the pipes in place of Igor Shestyorkin.

Despite starting well against the Czech Republic, it was the hosts who drew first blood with Filip Chytil hitting the target on the powerplay.

In the box seat, the Czechs doubled their money in the second period when Matej Stransky registered a goal after 21 minutes. After that marker, Russia laid siege to the Czech net, registering 17 shots on target during the second stanza alone.

Alexei Kruchinin eventually got Russia on the board in the third, but it wasn't enough as the Czech Republic held on to their 2:1 victory.
