An RIHF conference

At the Ice Hockey Museum in Moscow, a Russian Ice Hockey Federation conference took place.

A report concerning the RIHF's work during the period between 2014 and 2018 was looked at. Vladislav Tretiak was then unanimously voted the Russian Ice Hockey Federation president for the next four years.

- The main thing is that we've kept our promise and started implementing the program for constructing stadiums during the next four years. For us, that's really important. We also have a system for developing players of all ages. Two age groups have already been presented and we will keep progressing every year. We possess a large for developing referees, marketing, student and mass sport and the Golden Puck.

In the upcoming four years, we need to concentrate on constructing stadiums. Our main opponents are Canada, the USA, Sweden and Finland, but we're losing out to them in terms of amount of stadiums for the population. Canada have 3000 ice hockey arenas, but we only have 540. In four years we want to increase that number to 650. At the moment, 600 thousand people play ice hockey in Canada, while only 90 thousand participate in the sport in Russia. However, we're focused on increasing that to 110 thousand. We will work in this direction.

An important aspect for us is the direction which the Russian Ice Hockey Federation is moving in. There will be RIHF branches across the whole country which we will sponsor and control.
