The CAS have released the decision concerning female Russian ice hockey players
The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) released their decision concerning female ice hockey players which had previously been banned by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) commission.
Instead of being banned from the Olympic Games for life, Galina Skiba, Anna Shibanova and Inna Dyubanok have only been denied the chance to compete at the tournament in South Korea.
Players Ekaterina Lebedeva, Tatyana Burina, Ekaterina Pashkevich, Anna Schukina and Ekaterina Smolentseva are not guilty of any violations and all sanctions have been taken away.
The RIHF welcomes the CAS decision. However, the coaches will not make any changes to the Russian roster. The team are training in Khabarovsk and will fly to South Korea on Feburary 4, where a friendly match will take place against Sweden on February 6. On February 11, the Olympic Games tournament will begin with a match against Canada.
