The Russian women's national team have beaten Sweden

In Germany, the Russian women's national team are continuing to play in the Nations Cup. Today our team defeated Sweden, and will now play with Germany in the match for third place.

After a scoreless first period, Angelina Goncharenko fired Russia ahead on the powerplay in the second. That lead was then doubled by Olga Sosina in the third, before a late Swedish reply made it a nervy finish. 

Russia - Sweden - 2:1 (0:0, 1:0, 1:0)
