Czech Republic - Russia. The second match

Today in Ostrava, the main Russian national team will play their second Euro Hockey Tour match against the Czech Republic.

The first meeting was held on Thursday, as our players fell to the Czechs 2:3 in the penalty shootout. Nevertheless that match has given us a lot of hope for the future, and Oleg Znarok's troops will be looking to improve on that performance today.

It's never easy against the Czech Republic away, and this game in Ostrava has been sold out since a few days ago. The home fans should make it a hostile atmosphere for Russia, and it will be a good test for our inexperienced team.

So far we have not beaten the Czechs this season, with previous 3:4 SO, 2:4 and 2:3 SO defeats in all combined stages of the competition. Despite those losses, goaltender Ilya Sorokin has shown a lot of promises and made 37 saves on Thursday.
