Russia - Denmark. Press-conference
Russian head coach Oleg Znarok:
- We had a great game. We took advantage of our goalscoring chances, and we will now prepare for the next match.
- Are such victories for the team useful or dangerous? And why did Stepan Sannikov go straight into the first line?
- Yes, we are satisfied with his performance. We have four even lines. About the victory, then I think that this is an excellent match for us, and we used our openings.
- Ilya Sorokin made his World Championship debut. Why didn’t you put him in from the start?
- We wanted him to feel the World Championship’s atmosphere, and he will play one game as the starting netminder.
- Vadim Shipachyov’s line played fantastically. Are they playing like last year again?
- A lot of work still needs to be done, especially in defence.
Danish head coach Jan Karlsson:
- First of all, congratulations to Russia for the three points. However, congratulations is the wrong word, as Denmark took a hockey lesson. We have to learn from this and move on.
- Tomorrow you have a very important match against Latvia. Did this influence this game?
- Yes, of course.
