Roman Lyubimov and Ilya Sorokin speak about the match with Norway
Roman Lyubimov, forward:
- We didn't play that well in defence, but Ilya Sorokin made the saves. Did I expect to score three goals at the tournament? Yes. I want to play and be helpful to the team. Nevertheless, there have been chances which I have passed up, and there are things to work over. I and Ivan Telegin are trying to follow the coach's game plan, and when I get into the dressing room, I will congratulate Ilya Sorokin with his shutout. My goal? I don't train baseball shots. I simply hit the puck, and it went in. I waited for the puck to drop lower than the crossbar.
We prepare for every game, and 24 hours should be enough to recover. After conceding seven goals in the first two matches we have worked a lot on our defence, and are playing more physical while keeping our positions.
Ilya Sorokin, goaltender:
- I was nervous before the match, but as soon as I began playing, I felt fine. Thanks go to my teammates for helping me. I had shots to face in the first period, and everything went as usual. Sergei Bobrovsky congratulated me with the win. Was this a perfect debut? I don't know, maybe some other goalkeeper gave out an assist. This was only one match, a lot of work is ahead.
