The 2024/2025 Women's Hockey League (WHL) season has come to a close, with Agidel Ufa defeating Dinamo Saint Petersburg by a series score of 4-0 in the grand final.
President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) Vladislav Tretiak was present at the decisive game in Saint Petersburg, participating in the trophy ceremony and making a speech to both teams. The WHL has been operating under the auspices of the RIHF again since the start of 2024.

RIHF President Vladislav Tretiak:
"This is a special season as a consequence of women's ice hockey celebrating its 30th anniversary in Russia! Krasnoyarsk, Chelyabinsk, Yekaterinburg, Ufa, Nizhny Novgorod, Moscow Region and Saint Petersburg are now all represented in the WHL, which is rapidly gaining popularity.
"It was a thrilling season, with the All-Star Game in Chelyabinsk standing out as a highlight. Everyone in attendance really enjoyed the exciting event! For the first time, the playoffs were staged using a best-of-seven system, and we saw one of the semi-final series go all the way to game seven. Yes, Agidel did subsequently win the final 4-0, but Dinamo put up a good fight and even held a 2:0 lead in the fourth match.

"The RIHF is continuing to develop women's ice hockey. It's an Olympic discipline which promotes a healthy lifestyle."
