Alexander Almetov, a famous Soviet ice hockey player, would today have turned 85 years of age.
During his short playing career, Alexander managed to win the Olympic Games on one occasion and the World Championship seven times.
Alexander sadly passed away at the age of 52 due to illness. However, he was subsequently inducted into the Russian Ice Hockey Hall of Fame.
