The RIHF participated in the XIX SportMed International Scientific Conference

Between the 5th and 6th of December, the XIX SportMed International Scientific Conference was held as part of the Russian Healthcare Week Forum.

Representatives of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) took part in the event dedicated to the prospects for the development of sports medicine.

The conference was opened by the Deputy Minister of Healthcare of Russia Andrey Plutnitsky, the State Duma Deputy Mikhail Kizeev and the Head of the Sports Medicine Department of the Federal Medical and Biological Agency of Russia Igor Vykhodets.

RUSADA General Director Veronika Loginova presented statistics concerning anti-doping rule violations and shared information on ongoing investigations. Head of the Department of Exercise Therapy and Sports Medicine at the North-Western State Medical University named after I.I. Mechnikov, Professor, Doctor of Medical Sciences Elena Gavrilova spoke about the results of a study of heart rate variability in ice hockey players.

Of particular interest to the RIHF was the eleventh scientific and practical conference named Medical Support for High Performance Sports under the auspices of the FMBA of Russia, which took place on the second day. Within the framework of this conference, reports were presented by leading specialists of the Cente for Diagnostics, Treatment and Rehabilitation of Athletes with an analysis of clinical cases.
