Russia win gold and bronze at the 3x3 Future Cup
09.11.2024
It was a successful 3x3 Future Cup for Russia, as our U20 team won the competition and our U18s took away the bronze!
The tournament was staged at the Yubileyny Arena in Saint Petersburg.
In the first semi-final, goals from Mario Patalakha, Emil Pyanov, Matvei Maximov, Ivan Kazakovtsev, Yaromir Yermakov, Vladimir Yusupov and Maxim Belousov saw Russia U20 power past their Kazakh counterparts.
However, there was to be no Russian final, as our U18 side fell 3:4 to Belarus U20. Interestingly, Nikolai Salygo, Alexei Alshevsky and Evgeny Avramenko had equalised after being three down, but the Belarusians netted the winner with a mere eight seconds remaining on the clock.
Subsequently, Russia U18 secured the bronze medal with a confident 5:2 triumph over Kazakhstan with Nikita Shcherbakov, Nikita Poltavchuk, Yan Melnikov, Yegor Privalov and Mikhail Melikov scoring, before Pyanov, Maximov, Patalakha and Yermakov all got on the board in the grand final for our under 20 national team against Belarus.
