3x3 Russian Cup

24.09.2024
The Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) continues to develop 3x3 hockey: under the auspices of the RIHF, the Xtreme Hockey League (XHL) will stage the 3x3 Russian Cup, as well as new international tournaments.

3x3 ice hockey is a new dynamic, exciting format with show elements which has already won the hearts of fans across the country. The 3x3 discipline is at the heart of professional and mass ice hockey, allowing more people to get involved in sport and consequently serving as a tool for achieving state-level goals in the process. The success of the new format is largely due to the significant support it receives in the regions. Naturally, the further development of 3x3 hockey is impossible without expanding cooperation further.

The first 3x3 Russian Cup will be held in the 2024/2025 season. Teams from over the country are invited to participate, with all of them set to be divided into groups. A team from each group will qualify for the super-final, in which the best sides will compete against each other for the Russian Cup.

As a part of the first stage of expanding international cooperation, a master class will be held for players of the U18 and U20 Malaysian national teams.

In addition to the Russian Cup, the XHL is organising an international 3x3 hockey tournament under the auspices of the RIHF. Teams from Turkey, South Africa, the UAE and Malaysia will participate in it, while invitations will also be sent to Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and other nations. The location of the first competition will jointly be determined by the organisers in the near future.
