Reaction after playing Kunlun at the Ice Palace

24.08.2024
Interviews were taken following the second game of the Nikolai Puchkov Tournament between Russia U23 and Kunlun Red Star in Saint Petersburg.

Russia U23 head coach Nikolai Voevodin:

- We could have turned the game around, but we couldn't win the battles on the slot or force penalties out of the opponents. Maybe this was such a poor performance because we've only managed to train together a couple of times. Our next match? We now have a bit of time in which to prepare and analyse what happened in this game.

Russia U23 forward Daniil Lazutin:

- My opinion is that we lost out to the opponents in terms of our desire, the battles and ruthlessness in front of goal. We now have to work on what went wrong. We won in the subsequent overtime period and penalty shootout? They are positives which we can take away from the match. Thank you to the Russian Ice Hockey Federation for providing us with the opportunity to compete at this tournament, it's a fantastic opportunity for us young players to display our capabilities.
