Reaction after Russia and Belarus played each other in Novosibirsk

28.04.2024
The two respective head coaches had their say following the match between Russia and Belarus at the Liga Stavok Future Cup.
Russia U20 head coach Nikolai Voevodin:
- This wasn't an easy win for us. The opponents were better than us in the first period, we lost out in terms of movement and coughed up the puck with regularity. Nevertheless, we scored on the counter-attack and beat their goalkeeper thanks to individual quality. I would also like to point out the excellent performance of our goaltender, he kept us in with a chance. It's especially nice to win when there are so many supporters inside the stadium!
Belarus U20 head coach Andrei Mikhalyov:
- The game was 50/50 in the opening stanza, both sides had their chances. Unfortunately, we played poorly in the second and didn't change shifts quickly enough. This consequently allowed the opponents to swarm us with their intense pressing.
