Russia's players speak about taking World Championship bronze

22.05.2016

Anton Belov, defenseman:

- Bronze is a good result, however everyone expected more. We couldn't live up to the expectations, but this happens, it's a game. It's good that we won today, and finished the World Championship on a high note. It was great to play in front of our fans here, it was a sell-out at every match. It reminded me of the tournament in Minsk, even if the result was different.

Roman Lyubimov, forward:

- It's nice that we made the fans happy at this home World Championship, they supported us in every game. We wanted to fight for first place, but things turned out differently. We prepared for the bronze match, and we won this game but putting aside yesterday's disappointment to a side. We played good hockey, and I would like to thank our fans for the support. In the future, we will try to be in first.

Evgeny Kuznetsov, forward:

- We still feel the bitterness of not competing in the final. It's disappointing, as everyone was counting on us. Nevertheless, bronze is also a good result, and today we showed how we can play as a team. Overall, we played well.

Sergei Shirokov, forward:

- The fans deserve a huge thank you, they stuck by us after losing in the semi-final yesterday. Everything we do is for them.

Vyacheslav Voynov, defenseman:

- For us, the supporters were the sixth player on the ice. When they started to cheer, we fed off their energy. It's a real shame that we couldn't win the tournament for them, but we have taken a medal. Thank you to everyone.
