Vladislav Tretiak visited Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk

Vladislav Tretiak, the president of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation, paid a visit to Yuzhno-Sakahlinsk.

Together with Roman Dashkov, the chief executive officer of Sakhalin Energy LLC, he attended a training session of the Sakhalin Lion Cubs, the first sledge hockey team in the Far East which was founded three years ago.



Tretiak answered the players' questions and held an autograph session. Subsequently, he then attended a friendly match between Sakhalin Energy and a team representing the Government of the Sakhalin Region, presenting the participants with gifts from the RIHF and participating in a charity auction from which the proceeds will go towards the Sakhalin Lion Cubs.



An important part of his trip was visiting memorial complexes in honour of fellow countrymen. Tretiak laid flowers at the memorials of Sakhalin residents who died during the Great Patriotic War, in the battles for the liberation of Sakhalin and the Kuril Islands and while fighting in both Afghanistan and the Republic of Chechnya.
