Reaction after beating SKA in Sochi

08.08.2023
After beating SKA Saint Petersburg 6:5 after a penalty shootout in the final match of the Liga Stavok Sochi Hockey Open, Russia 23 head coach Nikolai Voevodin shared his thoughts.
Russia 23 head coach Nikolai Voevodin:
- We lost out in terms of movement during the opening two periods. However, after telling the guys that nothing was lost, they subsequently produced a wonderful third-period performance. Our second goal inspired them to start the comeback. I'm grateful to the players for the character which they showed. A lot of our players are SKA representatives at club level? They were all full of desire to prove their capabilities on the ice. Even though SKA have experienced, talented players for penalty shootouts, our guys managed to emerge victorious. We only won our last two games at the tournament? I liked how we competed throughout the competition.
