Between the 25th and 27th of May, the Annual Congress of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) was held in the Finnish city of Tampere.
There it was approved that the possibility of the Russian and Belarusian national teams returning to international tournaments wil be considered in March 2024. Furthermore, the national teams of Russia and Belarus are still on the list of participants for the 2026 Olympic Games.
