Sergei Zubov: "This was an important experience for our players"

13.11.2021
Sergei Zubov, the acting head coach of the senior Russian national team, shared his feelings following the second match of the 2021/2022 Euro Hockey Tour against Sweden (2:4):

Acting head coach of the senior Russian national team Sergei Zubov:

- We liked a lot of things about our performance, but we're obviously not satisfied with the result. Unlike us, Sweden were clinical with their opportunities. The fourth goal was disappointing to concede, we made a mistake during a shift change. Nevertheless, we don't need to be too upset with this result, the Swedes had an experienced team on the ice while our side consists of young players. Victories will come for our guys, this is an important experience for them. Matvei Michkov's goal? You don't often see lacrosse goals at this level, he only had a second to make a decision with the puck on his stick. It was a fantastic goal.
