The HC Sochi sporting school will work in accordance with the Red Machine Development Program

Hockey Club Sochi, which competes in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL), has revealed that it will create an ice hockey school. It will be designed for players born in either 2012 or 2013.

In July, the players will be chosen, before physical training sessions begin in August and training programs for the ice subsequently begin in September. Entry to the school is free and HC Sochi will cover all costs. The training process will be undertaken in accordance with the Red Machine National Development Program which has been developed by the Russian Ice Hockey Federation.

On March 13, 2018, the Red Machine National Development Program was presented in Moscow at the Ice Hockey Museum. The program includes new techniques for training players and educational material for the coaches. Basic ice hockey exercises for skating, puck control, theory, tactics, physical training methods and nutrition are all included in the program. Each series is designed for seperate ages between six and 18. The program has been approved by the Russian Ministry of Sport. The program has been presented by the Russian Ice Hockey Federation in Moscow, Kazan, Sochi, Tula, Khabarovsk, Chelyabinsk, Norilsk and Khanty-Mansiysk.
