The 103th anniversary of Alexander Vinogradov's birthday is celebrated on February 28, 2021.

Alexander started his sporting journey with a career in football, winning the 1946 and 1947 USSR championship and the 1945 USSR Cup. When he was 30 years of age, he switched to ice hockey, becoming a defenseman and won both the USSR championship and the USSR Cup on three occasions. In 1954, he won the ice hockey World Championship with his country in Sweden.

Following the completion of his playing career, he was the CSKA coach and won the 1961 USSR championship as team boss.
