19.01.2026
President of the Russian Ice Hockey Federation (RIHF) Vladislav Tretiak participated in the opening ceremony of a new ice rink in Ulyanovsk Region.
The facility, which is equipped with a comprehensive lighting system and convenient access points, was constructed in Sengileevsky District on the grounds of the Silikatnenskaya Primary School by JSC Kvarts.
During the event, Tretiak spoke with young players from Ulyanovsk Region and discussed issues related to their development.

RIHF President Vladislav Tretiak:
"We are making significant efforts to increase ice hockey's popularity and engage citizens in physical activity. When working in rural areas, one of the key aspects of this process is creating the required facilities for sporting engagement. For its part, the RIHF is taking every opportunity to build new ice rinks. I would like to thank our partners who are providing significant support for our projects.
"The opening of the new rink is the next step in our systematic efforts to provide rural areas with high-quality infrastructure. The rink is simply magnificent! When I was a child, we could only dream of such facilities. I'm very happy for the guys who now have their own ice rink. I am confident that these new opportunities will further inspire young hockey players and increase interest in our sport. It is on rinks like these that future great players, top-level stars, develop. For those who don't become professionals, hockey develops character, a healthy lifestyle and key values. Efforts to improve Russian ice hockey infrastructure will continue."
