About
Russia W
Developing women's ice hockey is one of the International Ice Hockey Federation's main objectives (IIHF). Our team constantly competes in the highest division, winning World Championship bronze in 2001, 2013 and 2016. The players compete in Four Nations tournaments, and play against university teams from the USA and Canada as a part of the women's ice hockey development program. Russia W's first official match took place in 1994 against Switzerland, before winning the European championship a year later. At the 1996 European championship, Russia lost to Sweden to take a silver medal. Head coach - Alexander Zybin.
