Program of events for the 70th anniversary celebrations

In December and January, the Russian Ice Hockey Federation will hold a number of celebratory events dedicated to Russia Hockey's 70th anniversary. On the 22nd of December 1946, the domestic championship's first ever match took place.

Starting from the 7th of December, an open air ice rink at the Legends Park will open. Some of the country's ice hockey legends will take to the ice for the grand opening, and there will also be a special gala-match between Russia Hockey 1946 and Russia Hockey 2016.

On the same day, a Red Machine exhibition will open inside the Ice Hockey Museum. Museum visitors can look at how different national teams won medals at Olympic Games and World Championship.

Later, on the 8th of December, the Student Hockey League All-Star Game will be held at the Legends Park. This is the first year that the Student Hockey league has been run under the control of the RIHF. 

On the 15th of December, Moscow and Moscow Region female youth teams will compete in a friendly match at the open air ice rink at the Legends Park.

The World Hockey Forum 2016 will take place in Moscow between the 15th and 17th of December. Ice hockey specialists from all over the globe will all speak at the conference.

The Channel One Cup, the Russian stage of the Euro Hockey Tour, will be hosted by Moscow's VTB Ice Palace between the 15th and 18th of December.

An exhibition match will take place on the 17th of December. The event will see Russian and Soviet ice hockey legends take each other on. Also, an autograph session for fans will be included at the Legends Park.

Ice hockey legends Alexei Yashin, Alexei Morozov and Andrei Kovalenko will hold a master-class for young players. In order to compete, you have to between eight and twelve years of age. One year of ice hockey experience is also required. If you wish to take part, please send an email to master-class@mail.ru. The event will take place on the 16th, 17th and 18th of December. 

At the Legends Park on the 19th of December, the public can see a training game between a Physical Culture Sporting Organisation team and Dynamo Moscow-2003. Tickets won't cost a penny.

In the new year on the 14th of January 2017, the VHL Russian Classic between Dynamo Balashikha and Khimik Voskresensk will take place at the Legends Park open air ice rink. Puck drop will be at 12:00.
