Training session ahead of the Channel One Cup

Ahead of the upcoming 2022 Channel One Cup, the senior Russian national team staged a training session at the CSKA Arena in Moscow.

The players trained in these following lines:

Goalkeepers: Ilya Konovalov, Nikita Serebryakov, Maxim Dorozhko.

Whites: Vladislav Provolnev, Alexander Nikishin - Maxim Dzhioshvili, Ilya Safonov, Dmitry Voronkov.

Blues: Semyon Chistyakov, Damir Sharipzyanov - Sergei Tolchinsky, Kirill Semyonov, Arseniy Gritsyuk.

Reds: Grigory Dronov, Nikita Nesterov - Konstantin Okulov, Mikhail Grigorenko, Maxim Mamin.

Blacks: Sergei Telegin, Alexander Elesin - Vladimir Tkachyov, Alexander Kadeikin, Pavel Karnaukhov.

Greens: Yegor Yakovlev, Yegor Savikov - Yaroslav Likhachyov, Mikhail Vorobyov, Dmitry Rashevsky.

Head coach Alexei Zhamnov:

- We have put the emphasis on youth with this squad, so that we can know what to expect in the future. Hopefully, we will be allowed to compete at subsequent World Championships. Some of the guys in our team participated at the Olympic Games, while others will make their debuts after impressing at club level. We have a good balance of youth and experience. At this tournament, we want to make the fans happy with our performances.

Defenseman Alexander Nikishin:

- We want to win this competition. It's always interesting to play for the national team, both for the players and the fans. Our task is to win our games and play great ice hockey. I have some friends playing for the Belarusian national team, so I want to beat them! I also know some of the Kazakh players. Nevertheless, there isn't any friends on the ice.
