On Tuesday evening, the under 20 Russian national team managed to edge past the under 18 Russian national side at the Liga Stavok Cup of the Future in Saint Petersburg, earning a slender 1:0 victory.
Stanislav Yarovoy scored the only goal during the second stanza, while reliable goalkeeper Sergei Ivanov stopped all 28 shots he faced throughout the 60 minutes.
The competition will end tomorrow with Russia U20 playing Belarus U20 and Russia U18 facing Kazakhstan U20.
