In the first match of the Liga Stavok Cup of the Future, the under 20 Russian national team calmly dealt with the challenge offered by their Kazakh counterparts, cruising to an emphatic 6:1 victory.

David Mamaladze, Matvei Michkov, Dmitry Katelevsky, Daniil Lazutin, Nikita Chibrikov and Dmitry Buchelnikov all hit the jackpot, while solid goaltender Sergei Ivanov stopped 10 of the 11 Kazakh shots he faced.

Day two of the competition at the Yubileyny Arena in Saint Petersburg will see Russia U18 host Belarus U20 at 19:00 local time.
