09.08.2022
In the concluding match of the 2022 Liga Stavok Sochi Hockey Open, the under 25 Russian national team conceded a heavy 1:5 defeat to SKA Saint Petersburg.

At the end of the first period, Alexander Volkov was gifted a golden opportunity to open the scoring for Russia with a penalty shot, but his effort was stopped by solid SKA goaltender Dmitry Nikolaev.

In the second stanza, however, Marat Khairullin and Kirill Tankov hit the jackpot for SKA. Subsequently, the Saint Petersburg-based organisation registered a further three markers through Khairullin, Valentin Zykov and Daniil Pylenkov in the third.

One reply from Grigory Kuzmin in the 47th minute before Pylenkov's effort wasn't enough for Russia U25 to trouble SKA.
