The Russian senior women's national team have begun World Championship preparations

On the 14th of March, the senior Russian women's national team began their 2017 World Championship preparations in Novogorsk. The tournament will take place in the USA between the 31st of March and the 8th of April. Head coach Alexei Chistyakov has called up four goalkeepers, nine defenders and thirteen forwards to the training camp:

Goalkeepers: Nadezhda Alexandrova, Maria Sorokina, Nadezhda Morozova, Valeria Tarakanova.

Defenders: Angelina Goncharenko, Nina Pirogova, Ekaterina Lobova, Anna Shibanova, Maria Batalova, Liana Ganeeva, Yuliya Koshevaya, Anastasia Chistyakova, Anna Schukina.

Forwards: Alevtina Shtaryova, Elena Dergachyova, Anna Shokhina, Olga Sosina, Galina Skiba, Lyudmila Belyakova, Fanuza Kadirova, Ekaterina Smolentseva, Elina Mitrofanova, Lidiya Malyavko, Evgeniya Dyupina, Tatyana Shatalova, Alyona Starovoytova.

On the 22nd of March, the team will play a friendly match against HC Grad before flying out to America. In the USA, a training game will take place against Switzerland (March 28th) before the World Championship begins on the 31st against Finland.
